  • This is a romantic suspense novel, the first genre I ve read from Melissa Schroeder and once again, she impressed me Set in a small town, this is one of those novels where everybody knows everybody Back from a divorce and ready to move on, Althea Johnson returns to her hometown, where her mother was killed Her ex husband was a jackass and I liked how annoying the author made him sound. It s common for guys to have a rule about dating a friend s sister, but it s not applicable any Duncan Perry had [...]

  • A nice entertaining romantic suspense Thea has moved back to her hometown after her divorce There she hooks up with Duncan Perry A small town cop who is her brother s friend Anyway, she starts receiving letters similiar to the ones her mother received before her murder Meanwhile, women were being murdered that resembled her.The murderer wasn t hard to figure out But the romance was nice and steamy Rather predictable for the most part but I still enjoyed it.

  • I just have to say that it has been awhile since I read a book that I could not put down, and this one classifies as one of those I have never read anything by Melissa Schroeder but I was glad that stumbled across her This book was loaded with characters that you could really invest yourself in Thea was great Strong when she needed to be with just the right amount vulnerability shining through She handles the stress well and in a way that seems believable to the reader Duncan is a great leading [...]

  • 3.75 starsMy copy was given by the author and I have voluntarily written a review.Suspense, romance, mystery wrapped in a small town setting A super story that keeps you guessing if you ve figured out who the killer is until it s finally revealed, throw in a romance with mild sexy times, great secondary characters and it equals a good read The ending seemed fast to me and had time been given with our H h after they finally admit their feelings with no crazy stalker killer on the loose would hav [...]

  • Love, love, love this book It is a wonderful mix of romance and suspense I was captured at the beginning and just couldn t stop until I reached the end.Fantastic book and everything I hope for in a romantic suspense type book.

  • Althea Thea Johnson has moved home after her divorce and the stalking she was experiencing in Atlanta has followed her Her ex husband dismissed her fears even though he is a police officer and the letters were explicit and she was in a near fatal car crash The stalking followed her and not only that but someone is killing look a likes and getting closer and dangerous to her Duncan Perry is the sheriff and also Thea s brother s best friend The rule about not hitting on your best friend s sister [...]

  • Thea is living in fear and pain Her parents where killed when she was a kid and the killer never found Her brother distanced himself from meaningful feelings except for his sister She married and divorced a piece of crap And for years she has been stalked but no one would believe her Going back to her home town where it all started could be the answer Duncan the towns sheriff dealing with his own past painful issue He also happens to be best friends with Theas brother Jed When he bumps into Thea [...]

  • A Netgalley book reviewOk, so based on the title, I assumed this is going to be a thriller, with perhaps a touch of romance I was wrong Take note that I do not read blurbs Nor did I see the cover when I requested this book Lol.This is primarily a romance with a touch of action, a bite of suspense and gleam of intrigue At its core, it is however, a romance. So as far as romances go, this is not a bad read, quite the contrary The suspense build up was intriguing, the attraction undeniable and the c [...]

  • She never remembered what had happened that night almost 20 years ago, but the dreams still haunted her Newly divorced Thea Althea Johnson Warren , is looking for a fresh start After years of receiving threatening letters, she begins to doubt herself When she is run off the road, which put her in the hospital for months, she makes the decision to head to her hometown and solve her mother s murder She needs to finally get the answers she needs so she can put her demons to rest This book is a quic [...]

  • This book was okay I was in the mood for a romantic suspense though after starting it, I think it would be qualified for erotic romantic suspense and this book had been free on I think overall the author is talented at storytelling, but there were a few typos, I felt the relationship moved a little bit too fast on the positive, however, at least the characters knew each other already and I ll always be a sucker for best friend s little sister themes , the villain I had guessed early on and the [...]

  • I ve read quite a lot of Melissa Schroeder s books and this one here was not as good as her others It was ok but hardly earth shattering And I have to admit that I m a bit disappointed Hence, I m not in the mood to post a long review as I d do otherwise I don t know why but somehow the story fell flat and I felt that it was too tedious When they caught the killer I was disappointed too because the whole scene was not nearly as nail biting as I expected it to be Whatever, I m off reading Stephani [...]

  • Thea Johnson has come home Her marriage has gone the way of the Dodo and she needs to go back to the beginning Small towns never forget anything and most of the town believes Thea s father killed her mother and then took off Thea knows deep in her soul that isn t the case Now it appears someone is out to get her too Can her brothers best bud the hunky sheriff Duncan keep her safe This story is filled with twists and turns that will keep you guessing till the very end.

  • I got this book as a free download and I really liked it It had everything you would want from a romantic suspense novel Good characters, some hot loving and plenty of suspense I had a hard time putting it down and it was perfect reading for a rainy afternoon spend on the sofa I will have to check out other books by Melissa Schroeder.

  • Though the action is continuous, the suspense angle leaves a little bit to be desired I figured out who the baddie was in this almost immediately, and kept waiting to be proven wrong Unfortunately, I wasn t Neither Duncan nor Thea was able to have a really strong, cohesive arc for me, either, though Thea gains enough spine by the end of the book for me to root for her happy ending.

  • Authors with a wide range of genre are my favorite Schroeder does wonders with an extended military family, an erotic series and hot cops in Hawaii Her standalone books, like this one, are suspenseful and fun and sexy Duncan and Thea are like fireworks and the supporting cast is outstanding.

  • This book was okay I ve read many of her books, and this isn t one of the better ones I knew who the killer was fairly early on, and it seemed some of the easier clues were left hanging.
