  • Oh my I don t even know what to write To Seduce a Sinner was one of the best romance books I have ever read in my entire life It would have to rank in my top three of all time, if not the number 1 slot, because at this time I m hard pressed to think of two romances that I liked better.I can t even write a review Maybe later, but I m really not sure what I would write Was just so, so fantastic.I picked this up after finishing Elizabeth Hoyt s Notorious Pleasures last night, thinking to read a few [...]

  • Another amazing and wholly different historical romance from Elizabeth Hoyt This lady can really write no wrong Melisande was introduced in the previous book as the somewhat dowdy wallflower by choice friend She s very much not caught up in the fashionable fops of London, although she does run in the same circles She attends what propriety demands, but she prefers quite evenings at home and quiet clothing when she does venture to the occasional party And from the last book, we also know that she [...]

  • I could hardly finish it Imo, story development was very poor Heroine supposedly loved hero for years, though I neither read an emotinal scene nor an affection one Heroine was so cold, so distant that it didn t help to know her so I can say that there was not a chracterization about her Everything was disjointed, heroine s so called love for hero, her passionate personality at nights, hero s obssesion for finding the traitor at war, his sudden intrest for his wife without any evidence for it I t [...]

  • Does anyone have some smelling salts Because I m perilously close to fainting from too much fangirling Oh, dear Lord this was such an amazing read I almost didn t read this because To Taste Temptation, the first book in the series, frustrated me so much it was all I could do not to throw my Kindle across the room But this God, this just makes me want to do a victory dance Needless to say, To Seduce a Sinner is a keeper.Let me fangirl about Jasper first I absolutely loved him to bits He was such [...]

  • The beginning pissed me off The description of her plainness was horrid I ended up pitying the girl and wanting her to just keep her pride and not even bother He was very blatant in his perusal and how he found almost nothing to be satisfactory Plus, the idea of a girl waiting around as some guy bags everyone is pathetic Grow some back bone and move on, he probably has venereal disease anywaybut oh wait i forgot the male sluts of the ton that some people call heroes are always so very careful ab [...]

  • 2.5 3 starsThis was in between for me Not bad, not great It just fell completely flat for me First Elizabeth Hoyt book I ve read, while I ended up liking it, I struggled w this particular story It took me awhile to get to even liking it to be honest I wasn t blown away and the characters took a while to grow on me I was half way into the book and found myself not caring for either the hero or heroinet a good a sign I was told by several that this series was best read in order or else I would be [...]

  • This one is my favorite of the four, excellent story, excellent characters and a really, really happy HEA.

  • I wanted this to be over It was tedious There s no dialogue There s no relationship developmentORY BRIEF She has loved him from afar for several years They ve never talked He enjoys socializing and has had many lovers He needs to produce an heir and is jilted by two fianc s Melisande sees this as her chance She approaches him and offers marriage He says yes I do not understand why he said yes She is shy, prim, and properVIEWER S OPINION Their conversation is so boring I could never understand ho [...]

  • 4.5 starsLinks and CommentaryA friend recently posted a review for this book With Duchess Nicole s permission I m including a link to it here Nicole captures so much of what makes To Seduce a Sinner a fulfilling romance.Elizabeth Hoyt breaks away from the archetypical hero and heroine She provides an emotionally tormented hero with survivor s guilt and a bad case of post traumatic disorder His sociable and easy going nature survives captivity and psychological torture Jasper, the hero, enjoys th [...]

  • Yummy Let me try to explain. You ve just finished a pretty satisfying meal at a nice restaurant and a dessert cart rolls around and there are mounds of decadent desserts and one plain chocolate mousse cake Most people wouldn t even look twice at the chocolate mousse cake and instead go for the large syrupy cake that is currently on fire BUT that would be a mistake That cake, though plain compared to everything else, is a melt in your mouth slice of baked goodness Neither too sweet or too dry it s [...]

  • This is one of my favourite books of all time It has all the elements I love in a book great scarred hero, heroine head over heels in love with hero for years when he doesn t know it, plain but very smart and interesting heroine, great conversation between hero and heroine, some humour, interesting little twists and discovery on both sides of the wonders of each other the heroine who already loves the H, but finds there s even wonders to discover in him, and the H who didn t even really know h [...]

  • This is the 2nd in the 4th soldiers series This is Melisande and Jasper s story Jasper is the clown of the four, he always has a smile or a joke But underneath he is suffering from PTSD, just as bad as Sam did Everybody manifest problems with it in a variety of different ways I don t want to reveal Jasper s, but I will say I want to talk about it with some of you ladies to find out whether Hoyt actually addressed the men getting better with this condition Melisande was a hard nut to crack We fou [...]

  • ah I don t want this book to end I told myself to stop at 70% So instead of finishing the book, I am poring over the reviews It is always absolutely fascinating to see different opinions on one book and how everyone responds differently Since I am on the positive side, I pay attention to negative reviews I want to know what ticked them off, what annoyed them It is kind of an anthropological inquiry for me Since many reviews have done a great job of detaling the plots, I will leave that out in t [...]

  • Reviewed for queuemyreview book release Nov08 To Seduce a Sinner is Elizabeth Hoyt s second historical in her Legend of the Four Soldiers series While it s not necessary to read the first one to enjoy this book, I do think it would make the reading experience richer and fuller Each of the books in this series is about DUH a man returning from war with physical and or mental wounds Each chapter is also headed by a scene from a fairy tale that, in some way, mirrors the story of the novel Melisande [...]

  • I enjoyed this second book in the four soldiers series quite alot I liked the interaction between the hero and heroine, and the acceptance they showed for one another The hero is somewhat tortured and suffers from PTSD, but he is a good natured, loving man The heroine is somewhat reserved due to events in her past, but she is caring and loyal So far, I have enjoyed all of the books this author has written, and I look foward to the next When Jasper Renshaw, Lord Vale, is abandoned by his fiance o [...]

  • So, yesterday was kind of sucktastic It was a Monday always bad and the weather had turned cold And for some reason my turtleneck collar would not stay flat stupid, I know, but when your clothes are bugging you all day you get a little crabby. When I got home and found my box of books I d ordered from BAM, however, things picked up I got Robyn Carr s A VIRGIN RIVER CHRISTMAS, Julie Anne Long s LIKE NO OTHER LOVER and Elizabeth Hoyt s TO SEDUCE A SINNER I set aside the Carr because I wasn t ready [...]

  • This was one of the worst romance books I ve ever read There was no chemistry, the attraction seems forced and the conversations are so dull that after a while I skipped most of the nonsense And hello, is anyone interested in the story of the maid and valet s love And the steamy scenes were not really steamy, they were rather crude and funny I mean, it s not their love and care for each other that brings them together but their lust and need for pleasure There are no answers to why these two com [...]

  • Ok that wedding night scene was icky.but that was all I could find wrong with this bookJasper is a beta herod I have rarely come across well written heroes that didn t have alpha personalitiesbut of course Hoyt is an exception to that role as well.I really adored Jaspere heroine was bland until she starts her seduction and then you can literally see her personality shine the pagese tripping scene was hilarious totally unlike Jasper lold of course the intimate scenes were lite

  • I really, really enjoyed this book The only reason I didn t rate it with 5 stars, is that it took me a while to like the heroine, but after I did, I simply loved it To seduce a sinner, is the story of Jasper, Viscount Vale and Melisande Vale, has been left in the altar for the second time and Melisande, who has secretly watched him for years, feels he may be desperate enough to marry her instead Jasper agrees and their marriage of convenience begins Both Jasper and Melisande have secrets hidden [...]

  • Oh, I really really loved this one I was not sure, because I didn t really feel like I liked Jasper from the previous book But man, I slowly slowly fell in love with him and then the end was the clincher for me This was such a sweet sweet story So far loving the series

  • My review contains spoilers and they re mostly my thoughts as I went with the book This one s got 3 parts note there s an update Slow, for my choice Though the repartee between Vale and Melisande are enjoyable, they aren t just grabbing me the way I hoped for Actually, the books isn t at all going the way I expected to it to, a lot of things are annoying me.I didn t like Vale in TTT, and I still don t like him in his own book He seems clumsy, boorish as he was in TTT and not to mention frivolous [...]

  • 3.75 starsI really enjoyed this book and definitely want to read the other books I will say this book was slow Like I couldn t believe after all of the time I was reading it that I wasn t done yet The parts that were slow were s l o w but when they work, they are just so good I absolutely love Jasper and Melisande I love that Jasper wasn t one of those men who was like we can marry but don t ever expect me to love you I like that he was able to open up to Melisande about that worst time in this [...]

  • When I first met you, I was a fool And I was a fool for years before that I saw only the tin you hid behind I was too vain, too asinine, too foolish to look beyond and see your beauty, my sweet wife He raised his beautiful turquoise eyes, and she saw that they were adoring I want you to understand that I see you now I ve basked in the wonder of your beauty, and I m never letting you go I love you with all my battered soul A very sweet romance about a marriage of convenience Melisande Fleming has [...]

  • If you love romances where the ugly duckling or plain Jane gets her Prince, To Seduce a Sinner is the book for you Jasper Renshaw, Viscount Vale, has just been left at the altar after courting his soon to be bride for months Jasper isn t that upset, just a little embarrassed Things get a bit strange when a plain looking woman in a brown dress, who is a distant relative of his ex fianc asks for his hand in marriage Since Jasper does need to marry, he accepts Melisande Flemings has loved Jasper fo [...]

  • This improved as it went on, but nonetheless I m left with a rather bland feeling at the end of it It was fine and I don t think I can set it any higher than that As I said in my mid way update from this book, I think my appreciation of it may have been hampered by having read number 1 in the series so long ago Assumed knowledge of Jasper s character seemed to be taken as a given, either that, or he was badly drawn Regardless of the situation there, I didn t warm to Jasper His demons were poorly [...]

  • Melisande Flemming has loved Jasper Renshaw Viscount Vale for years , when he is jilted at the alter Mellisande proposes to him and Jasper accepts Mellisande is 28 and plain while Jasper is the perfect rake and for years Mellisande has watched him flirt and bed woman after woman without even glancing in her direction, now he is hers alone Mellisande is determined to hide her love from Jasper as he only wants a marriage of convience Jasper is a tortured soul with a lot of bad memories of his time [...]

  • This was nice.I liked both the hero and the heroine it certainly made a pleasant change to read about a woman who knows what she wants and quietly goes about getting it I m thoroughly sick of heroines who go running off in all directions and then have to be rescued from the results of their idiocy by the hero The hero, too, isn t the usual alpha male jerk It s actually understandable why the heroine fell for him.And they act mostly like intelligent adults No stupid plot convenient miscommunicati [...]

  • The subplot overshadowed the relationship completely I didn t emotionally connect to the hero or heroine I had to put the book down several times The story dragged and I had a real hard time finishing it I just couldn t believe what we were told by the author because the actions didn t complement the plot I didn t feel that Jasper felt badly for many of his actions or he loved Melisande and saw her real self.
