  • I loved this book as a child My mother worked with Mrs Renner and I had the pleasure of speaking with her on numerous occasions She was enthusiastic about young readers and wrote her books for them This is a heartwarming coming of age story set in the mid seventys I thoroughly recommend this book for anyone There are no questionable subjects and is suitable for all ages but it is geared towards the tween and young adult age groups.

  • This book, a edition of The Hideaway Summer, was a fun read.Sister and brother decide to spend the summer at the hideaway , a cottage sort of place that belonged to their grandma, instead of going to summer camp.Mom is in Europe, dad is off somewhere working for the summer So they are totally on their own at least they think so , and play hooky from camp.Raccoons, a flood, hunters, and each other.what could you want out of a summer.

  • Totally based on my memory from when I was ten, but I absolutely loved this story Someone started a discussion thread on books that ignite children s love of reading and I was trying to think of what books did that for me I remembered this one.
