  • A wonderful book to share with children especially those who don t like to read or think it s a waste of time even upper elementary Josias is a boy who lives in rural Haiti where many adults are still illiterate who learns the magic and the power i reading.

  • I really likes how this book depicts what many families lives are like in Haiti The author s note explains Most live in rural communities and do not go to school Because of this many adults do not read as well. But Josias discovers that reading CAN help in being a better farmer.

  • This book is about a boy whose family lives in Haiti He farms with his family and has never gone to school Eventually he gets to go to school to learn about new kinds of farming and how to make his garden that once was bare grow again.
